On the afternoon of 27 March 2025, Dr. Graham Wise, Director of International Development, Global Engagement at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, led a delegation on a visit to Shanghai Business School (SBS). The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on deepening inter-university cooperation and promoting faculty and student exchanges. The meeting was held in Room 1502 of the Zhongshan West Road Campus and was chaired by Ms. Yang Bing, Director of the International Exchange Office at Shanghai Business School.

At the meeting, Director Yang Bing extended a warm welcome to the delegation from the University of Canterbury. She provided a detailed introduction to SBS's distinctive educational features, disciplinary strengths, and achievements in internationalization. Director Yang stated that Shanghai Business School consistently adheres to an open philosophy in education, committed to expanding high-level international cooperation. She expressed the hope to explore more collaborative opportunities with the University of Canterbury in areas such as faculty-student exchanges and joint talent cultivation programs.
Dr. Graham Wise gave a focused presentation on the University of Canterbury's summer school programs, semester exchanges, as well as its “3+1+1” integrated bachelor’s-to-master’s and dual master’s degree initiatives. He emphasized that the University of Canterbury highly values its partnership with Shanghai Business School and looks forward to providing students from both institutions with richer international learning experiences through diversified collaborative models.
During the interactive session, both parties discussed specific areas for collaboration, including student exchange programs, summer schools, and semester exchanges, reaching preliminary consensus. Practical discussions on project details were conducted between Ms. Bing Zhenhua, Student Program Director of the SBS Hotel Management College, Ms. Zeng Na, Project Coordinator of the International Exchange Office, and Ms. Jennifer Hu and Ms. Emma Xie, Shanghai Program Managers of the University of Canterbury.

This meeting has laid a solid foundation for future in-depth cooperation between the two institutions. Moving forward, both sides will accelerate the promotion and implementation of joint projects to support the international development of faculty and students, and jointly enhance the level of openness in education.
